PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Extended Stay America, through the support of their guests is committing to provide 5,000 Hope Bears to children’s hospitals throughout America with the simple goal of bringing a smile to the face of a child battling cancer.
OBJECTIVE: For a $10 donation, a Hope bear can be delivered to a child battling cancer. Working with the American Cancer Society, Extended Stay will provide bears to children’s hospital nationwide. By allowing for customers to donate through either their brand or concierge page the Extended Stay team leveraged existing digital traffic to drive engagement. Customers were able to donate a $10 to American Cancer Society or purchase their own Hope Bear and have it shipped to one in need.
RESULTS: The partnership with the American Cancer Society, while altruistic, was also strategic. By pairing up with an existing household brand, the Extended Stay Team was able to elevate their status beyond the “value” brand they were known for and craft their own messaging surrounding their “care” for all of their guests and the communities they support
